Port Antonio, the capital of Portland was described by the American poet Ella Wheeler Wilcox who vacationed there, as “the most exquisite port on the earth”. It is also one of the few places in the world where there is not one traffic light on the roads. Port Antonio, has retained its charm as a quiet rural township and is home to one of the most beautiful harbors in the Caribbean.

The town was glamorized by Hollywood in the 1940’s and 50’s, as it became the model of paradise for
the silver screen. This was endorsed by the arrival of world-famous movie star Errol Flynn, who purchased Navy Island and Boston Estates, and who recently gave his name to the new Mega-Yacht Marina in the west harbour in Port Antonio. Members of European Royal families, movie stars, great musicians and well known politicians who continue to visit Port Antonio, are countless.
